The Famous Sunday Market

The Famous Sunday Market

The Rotary Club of Balwyn has operated the market in Camberwell Junction Car Park on almost every Sunday since August 1976. Up to 380 stall holders each week sell the most amazing variety of goods from real trash to genuine treasure. Bric-a-brac, hand crafts, clothing, old wares, collectibles, tools, furniture, toys, books & many more curious things are all available.

The atmosphere is wonderful & you can browse & bargain, watch the amazing characters, be entertained by the buskers & enjoy a great coffee & something to eat at one of the eateries that face on to the market area.

To date nearly $8.5 million has been raised and distributed to charities and community organizations in Boroondara, within Victoria, across Australia and throughout the World.

Held weekly at the Camberwell Junction, this icon of the Eastern Suburbs is staffed by Rotary volunteers from the Rotary Club of Balwyn and three other local clubs in the City of Boroondara.

The Sunday Market has its own home on the web. For the latest information visit: http://www.sundaymarket.com.au.

The idea to run a market as a permanent on-going income generating project was conceived in 1974. It took until 1976 to turn the idea into reality & it has been going strong and growing ever since. Here's how it happened.

Since 1976 to June 2007, the Market has raised over $8 million for well over 2,000 projects in local, national and world communities.
