Care Report
After my comment that everyone was OK I received a couple of rude messages! I didn’t think anyone read what I wrote!. Here goes, I will stir a few more!
Carol Imison was proud and happy to announce that she has another granddaughter – born this week. Mother and child well. Congratulations Grandma!
Good to see Judith back with us and our thanks to Carol who is driving her. Judith explained that she is ready to get behind the wheel, so watch out as you go down Warrigal Road.
Don and Margo Kerr are back from their sea voyage and visit to Paris, but were both unwell with a stomach upset and unable to come last night. We hope you get over this bug quickly and we look forward to seeing and hearing all about your trip next week, Don.
Judy and Trevor White are back from an even more adventurous holiday in South American where they deliberately got involved in the life of outback South America, including the Amazon Valley. Congratulations Judy in venturing away into the wilds and mountainous country with a fit husband who insists on doing it the hard way. They both looked very well.
We missed two of our senior members last night, whom I think may only have missed only one other change-over in the RCB's history. I refer to Frances Rigby who came down with severe cold probably as a result of our weather, after returning from her grandson's wedding in Darwin. The other one was our old and bold Ben. It was just too cold for him, too.
Talking about senior members – while certainly junior to me in age – two of our members had important birthdays last weekend and were presented with their OBE. I checked birth certificates because both look too young: but they qualify! Congratulations Les and Eric.
Dick Mitchell and June are being well supported by daughters though Dick, I am sure, is very frustrated with his lack of access to his car. Hopes to be driving again soon.
Stan Hogg is in residence at Connault, Yarrbat Ave., enjoying some respite care. After his fall and rehabilitation in Epworth, Brighton , his daughters felt he needed some spoiling with special care.
Ian and Nelle Lees are bright and are very positive when you talk to them on the phone. Their medical situation restricts their social activities. Ian is doing remarkable well after his operation.
Introducing the new Board last night we all wondered what pressure Ken had already put on new board as four or five board members were either sick or overseas. It sounds as though we may all be busy this year. They looked at the plans for 2010/11 and took off ! (Just joking Ken). We were all impressed with your plans and presentation on Tuesday night, Ken .
Julie Goodwin does remarkable things with her origami work / hobby and last night offered for sale by auction a clever and quite intricate piece, for Club Funds. The Batrouneys won the battle for the item and are very pleased
with themselves. Thank you and congratulations Julie on your generous offer. I should mention immediate Past President Bill, who also contributed for auction some of his renowned cartoons. Bill, we all thank you for doing so
much in the last year.
If you notice someone missing for a while, how about spending 10 minutes on phone to hello and encourage them . It would do them the world of good.
