This was not an ordinary meeting

Last week (July15) we were privelidged to have Barry Jones as our guest. In a really interesting & entertaining address, he told us about life in the Labor Party and also gave us an author's view of the processes & challenges of writing an autobiography. A fascinating insigt enjoyed by all.

Another notable guest speaker

On May 6, we were priveliged to have Jeff Kennett address us about his current passion, the Beyond Blue project. Jeff's knowledge of depression was eye-opening & his enthusiasm for the cause was inspiring. To learn more, click here.

The Rotary Club of Balwyn

We are a very active club of over 90 male & female members in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

Our most prominent activity is the famous Sunday Market in Camberwell. We have been operating this market since 1976 and to date, we have raised nearly $8,500,000. All of these funds have been used for charitable purposes in support of people and organizations within our own community, across Australia and overseas. The causes we support range from homelessness, drought affected communities and medical research to disaster relief both in Australia and overseas.

Beyond those activities, we also provide scholarships for aboriginal university students, support participants at the National Youth Science Forum, Rotary youth enrichment and youth leadership programs.

We meet for dinner every Tuesday and enjoy an interesting guest speaker on most meeting nights.
